Courtlandt Butts is the founder of LifeGuardian Worldwide LLC, an international life centered firm with a focus on social justice and ocean conservancy. He is a global aquatic professional with over 25 years’ experience in training and leading instructor development courses in swimming programs, lifeguarding and First Aid/ CPR / Oxygen Administration. Managed aquatic facilities and wrote standard operating procedures for in-service training domestically and abroad. Currently applying skills to the domain of dive leadership.
Courtlandt is used to working with youth in recreational environments. He worked for several Morale, Welfare & Recreation centers on board Army, Navy and Marine Corps based like Okinawa and Yokosuka, Japan; Rota, Spain; and Heidelberg, Germany, and Hong Kong. He was responsible for implementing the mission, vision, and goals of Camp Adventure Youth Services for each command. This included executive level supervision of all youth related services regarding camping, swimming, sport camps, and informal arrangement of dive trips and participation of SCUBA programs. He led aquatic and camp training for staff ranging from 4 to over 500 staff.

Courtlandt holds instructor ratings with the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), SCUBA Diving International (SDI), Diver’s Alert Network (DAN), YMCA, American Safety and Health Institute (ASIH), the American Red Cross, National Pool and Waterpark.
Courtlandt is a member of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS), Diving with a Purpose (DWP), the National Association of Black SCUBA Divers (NABS) and the Coral Reef Foundation (CRF)
Courtlandt holds Master of Arts: Educational Technology and Media from the University of Northern Iowa, and Bachelor of Science: Elementary Education from Florida A&M University.
