Work and spend the night underwater

Certification will be earned as:

  • Aquanaut Specialty
  • Underwater Archeologist Specialty
  • Full Face Mask
  • Must be 13 years old; Must be a certified diver1

Provided: Transportation from and to the Airport (FLL or MIA); Lodging, Meals; SCUBA Gear (divers should have mask, fins, snorkel), all training materials

Students will learn underwater archeology and then use those new skills to survey real submerged artifacts. They will spend the night in a real underwater habitat, and submit reports and data via the internet. They will also learn habitat watch standing and diving emergency procedures.

Cost $1,500

$300 deposit required.  Please make deposit on the “Donate” page.

Dive shops should contact  for group rates.  JSIS can provide a special week exclusively for your group.

4 Advanced Open water is a prerequisite for Rescue Diver

5 Courses taught by the University of Miami and the University of West Florida.  At least 5 participants must register or the course will not be taught.
